We are pleased to have published a collection of articles dedicated to St. Joseph Kuntsevych, entitled Bishop, Monk, Saint. The Figure of St. Joseph in the Heritage of the Uniate Church, in English. In 2023, commemorating the anniversary of the martyrdom of St. Joseph Kuncevičius (1580–1623), known as the "Apostle of Unity," we organized an exhibition at the Museum of Church Heritage entitled "May They All Be One: 400th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of St Josaphat Kuntsevych" which told the story of this saint and his historical context.
The new BPM publication significantly supplements research on the life and historical context of St. Joseph Kuncevičius, among other things, by providing an art history perspective – it contains not only scientific articles, but also artifacts dedicated to the saint; It presents the work of researchers not only from Lithuania, but also from Ukraine and Belarus.
The book is divided into three parts: "The Bishop and the Church"; "The Monk and His Order"; "The Saint and His Veneration." It is richly illustrated with photographs from the aforementioned BPM exhibition. as well as the exhibition held at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome during the jubilee period of St. Joseph. It also includes photographs from the exhibition at the Vilnius University Library, "Burning from God and for God – 400 Years of the Martyrdom of St. Joseph," and others.
The book will be presented at the Ukrainian Pontifical College of Saint Josaphat on November 12 at 4 p.m.
